Engineering Good Keynote 2015
Discover the art and the heart of Humanitarian Engineering!
Engineering Good is pleased to invite you to its 2015 keynote event. Titled #discoverHEart, it will be a platform for all our development partners, corporate partners, volunteers, members as well as the wider engineeing and non-engineering community to engage in an interactive discourse on what is at the heart of humanitarian engineering.
Running from 24 to 29 November, it includes a number of activities. We hope to see you there!
Events
#1 Re-engineered Remote Control Cars Workshops
Date and Time: 28 November 2015, 1pm – 4pm / 29 November 2015, 1pm – 4pm
Location: IDA Labs @ National Design Centre, 2nd floor

Description:
In this workshop, we will be modifying the controls of the remote control cars so that they can be used by children with disabilities. At the end of the workshop, all participants will have built their own modified RC car, which will be donated to our partner schools for kids with special needs!
#2 Documentary Screening and Panel Discussion
Date and Time: 28 November 2015, 4pm – 7pm

Description:
We will be screening a documentary titled ‘The Humanitarian Engineer’, which discusses the role that engineers can – and do – play in humanitarian efforts. This will be followed by a panel discussion about how engineering can help disadvantaged communities.
#3 Competition – Prize Presentation Ceremony
Date and Time: 29 November 2015, 11am – 12pm
Location: Bugis+ Civic Plaza (outdoor atrium)
Description:
Join us and our guest of honour Mr Desmond Lee, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs & Ministry of National Development, as we give out the prizes for the #discoverHEart competition and unveil our new organisation logo!
#4 Exhibition
Date and Time: Daily from 24 to 29 November 2015, 10am to 10pm
Location: Bugis+ Civic Plaza (outdoor atrium)
Description:
This exhibition aims to showcase the different facets of humanitarian engineering and shift the perspective about what HE is really about. Covering engineering leadership, appropriate technology, assistive technology, and more, the exhibition will also feature interactive activities.
