One of our basic needs as humans is food. With increasing levels of pollution, the interest in food has increased. What we need today are sustainable, clean, healthy, cruelty-free food stuff. These terms should be associated with every food item that we eat during every meal. But are they?

This class will put a microscopic lens onto the food industry, with special emphasis on seafood especially crustaceans, to study our food before we consume it. It will also provide deeper insights on clean, healthy, sustainable and cruelty-free food, by looking into the clean meat aspect of growing seafood in the lab.

A NewCampus class is an interactive intimate session lead by a global expert via video streaming and hosted in an inspiring room at one of our coworking space partners.

Sandhya is a biotech enthusiast, scientist, and entrepreneur, and she believes in the potential of translating biotech research into products. Currently, she is building a cell-based clean meat company in Singapore – Shiok Meats.

Her previous experiences include Scientist and Business Development Manager at A*STAR and setting up two startups SciGlo and Biotechin.Asia in Singapore.

She has been featured on Forbes Women in Tech, is an author for Nature Biotechnology blog and an Influencer at Mogul.
